The Toronto Maple Leafs used a rotating goalie schedule to easily eliminate the Pittsburgh Penguins in 4 straight, both Glen Resch and Ron Low had steller games. The Leafs out scored the Pens 20 to 8 and had little trouble with the pesky pens.
In a fairy tale twist of fate the Leafs will now face the hated Canadiens from Montreal in the second round. The Habs took care of the Flyers in 4 straight.
The City of Toronto is a buzz in anticipation of game one between these two legandary teams, during the regular season the Leafs just edged out the Habs for 2nd spot and a definate home ice advantage. So round 2 should live up to its billing as both teams hate each other and will leave it all on the ice when all is said and done.
GM Dave "I can't tell you how pleased I am to have to face the Habs it has been a boy hood dream of mine and now its finally here, We are ready to go and look to continue on with the great season we have had, Glen and Ron have played well and are pushing each other. There are many unsung heros on this team Ron Ellis and Rick Kehoe for starters have taken this team on their shoulder and carry the offensive ball. On the back end the defevise core has played above and beyond expectations."
One thing for sure round 2 looks like and interesting match up lets hope it lives up to it.
